If someone asks me, “Which is the most beautiful flower in the world”? I would rather ask him, “Is there any flower which is ugly?” Because whenever I listen the word, “FLOWER”, the first thing that clicks to my mind is the beauty and delicacy. To me the world’s most colorful, scented and beautiful thing is a flower. According to Luther Burbank, “Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul.”
Out of 400,000 species of the flowers in the world, there are some flowers which are not as delicate and fragrant as rose, but these are only few. And there are many…many flowers which are close to rose in delicacy, colors and even in smell.

Though it is difficult to decide which flower is the most beautiful but there are some which have unique features and outrank the others. Here is the list of 10 most beautiful flowers in the world.

1. ROSE


Thought to be the most beautiful of all the flowers, Rose is also the most favorite. Grown upon the woody more than 100 species and many hybrids also. Protected with pointed tickles, Roses vary in shades and sizes. The original Rose has just 4 or 5 petals and vary in size and many shades except blue and black. Most species of Roses are native to Asia while some are from Europe, North America and Northwestern Africa. Rose plants range from small dense shrubs to tall climbers. This flower is always preferred in weddings, anniversaries and parties. Even 500 years pass, Rose will remain popular flower all over the world.

2. LOTUS


This aquatic flower is Native to India (the national flower of Vietnam and India) and is the symbol of wealth, fertility, purity, and prosperity. This is also unique in the sense that Lotus is edible having multiple health benefits. Its seed can survive and can be cultivated after many years, but f properly kept. In Japan, China and Korea, the beauty of lotus is also celebrated in the form of carnivals.

3. DAHLIA


Native to Mexico (and Mexico’s national flower), Dahlia is a bushy plant with 42 species and the crossbreeds are commonly grown in gardens. In this plant, the stem has only one flower with diameter from 5 cm to 30 cm. Formerly called Asteraceae, this annual blooming Dahlia has many shades except blue. This is also an ingredient of cooking having the taste like sweet potatoes.

Native to Africa, as the name shows, it ranges from many shades of purple, yellow, white and cream. It blooms in sunny environment.

Native to Eurasia and North Africa, Tulip is from Lilly family with almost 75 species. Tulips bloom in Spring with the wide variety of colors except pure blue. Tulip plants can be 4-28 inches in height. These flowers are normally found in mountains but are also grown in gardens and as pots. Tulips are very famous in commercial uses. Ottoman Empire was the first to commercialize these flowers.

Native to southwestern and southern parts of South Africa (also national flower of South Africa), has many colors and forms with almost 81 verities. This is an unusual flower with the bowl like shape. It produces a fine amount of nectar, and attracts even bigger birds. When cur from the plant, it can survive for weeks.

It would be unjust of I don’t file Carnations in the list of the most beautiful flowers. The exact origin of Carnations is unknown because they have been cultivating for the last 2000 years but it is thought that they are to native to the Mediterranean region. Their plants grow up to 80 cm. The flower is 3-5 cm in diameter and has sweet fragrance. They are available n many colors. Some unscented carnations are often used as boutonnieres for men. They are also edible.

Native to native to hot regions of Eurasia, Australasia and Oceania, from the group of shrubs and vines, Jasmine is one of the most beautiful flowers with stunning fragrance. There are many perfumes available with the same scent but, when the flower blooms, its sweet aroma seems to hang in the air. It is from the olive family and it has almost 200 species. Jasmine flowers are 2.5 cm in diameter. Commonly jasmine is white or yellow in color but they can be slightly reddish.

9. LISIANTHUS


Native to warm regions of the Southern United States, Mexico and Northern South America, Lisianthus are decorative flowers needing extra care to cultivate. The tiny seeds of Lisianthus are not buried in the soil rather sown on the surface of rich, well-drained soil which must be fully exposed to sun and need a appropriate watering. Bloomed in early summer to the end of summer, Lisianthus flowers normally found in dark purple color. These flowers can last up to 2-3 weeks when cut from the plant.

10. HYDRANGEA


Native to Eastern Asia, especially China, Japan, Korea, the Himalayas, and Indonesia, this blue colored flower, Hydrangea is one of the most beautiful flower. This bunch of petals is a class of 70–75 species of flowering plants. Most of the plants of Hydrangea are shrubs, some are small trees and some are but some are small trees, and others climb up trees up to 90 feet. The blossoming season of these flowers is from early spring to late autumn.
